The 'Ultimate' piston design for the 2300 engine. Our strutted CP forging yields an extremely strong piston at a very low weight, approximately 295-300 grams. The deck is reinforced with structural ribs and further supported by the narrow pin tower span. This design uses a shorter 2" wrist pin, only 78 grams - included at no added cost. That's 40 grams lighter than other freebie wrist pins.
Another innovation is that we designed this around a new ultra-low friction metric pro-ring pack. These measure 1.0mm x 1.5mm x 2.0mm, even thinner than our popular metric ring pack. These rings seal great and offer good service life. We have also included optional lateral gas ports and CP Groove machining for greater ring seal and oil control.
This design is available for other rod lengths and strokes.
Tech Note: We strongly recommend a torque plate machined block with this application (yes, we have them in stock). Due to the narrow pin tower spacing, some rods may need pin-end side clearancing to fit. Remove an equal amount from each side of the small end until you have a minimum of .060:" clearance total. Piston to wall clearance is .003" minimum/.005" maximum.
